Summary

Cordelia is throwing a party at her place, with Wesley and Angel in attendance. Angel feels lonely and out of place because he's not very good at socializing. Meanwhile, in an ice-house, a man is watching a crate when all of a sudden he hears wailing coming from inside it. He cracks it open and something attacks him.

The next day, at the office, Cordy tries to talk Angel into being more social when Wesley enters. He hints at having no money, so Angel offers him a job. Suddenly Cordy has a vision of the scene at the ice-house. Angel and Wesley go to the factory to take a look. At the ice-house, Angel goes inside and finds a charred corpse. He searches for it's wallet and discovers that the man was a hired security guard. Someone tries to run by Angel, but he gets cornered. The man has ridges across his face and he tells Angel that his name is Tae and that he is from another dimension. His job is to stop the "bringer of chaos", who is loose on Earth. Angel lets him go and decides to go check out the victim's office while Cordy and Wesley do some research on the demon. In the man's offic,e Angel finds an envelope with cash and a letter inside. He takes the envelope and all of a sudden he's hit from behind by a fire blast. A woman appears but rushes off after receiving a phone call from a mysterious someone.

The woman heads off to an art gallery with Angel in hot pursuit. She heads to the back room where a portal appears and a girl falls out onto the floor. Back at the office, Wesley finds a book describing the Viguries of Oden Ta, who are fierce warriors who keep their women as slaves and eat a lot of rotting garbage. At the art gallery, Tae and his group burst in, taking the girl with them after a fight. They head to a flower market, where his gang takes out a ridge in the girl's spine, rendering her incapable to think for herself. Angel and the woman,Jira, head to his place. She tells him that she was trying to help girls run away from their dimension because men take out their ridge, or their Kau, to control the females. The ridge contains their passions, desires and impulses. Angel feels her passion when she places her hands on him. He warns her to stop killing human men and she angrily tells him that she doesn't need his help, then she leaves.

Cordy and Wesley go to the flower market, where they see the men of Oden Ta preparing to send the girl back, vowing that they will find Jira and remove her Kau. Jira goes to her spa, worrying about the girls, who are keeping cool by lying on beds of ice. While their Kau grows, it is impossible to have them awake because their passions would kill men. Jira says that the men are coming after her, so she decides to move the girls to a remote place in the desert. Cordelia and Wesley leave the flower market to warn Angel that the men have found Jira and are preparing to invade her house and take out her Kau. They head to the spa where they find Jira, annoyed that they came. She says that they will move the next morning but Angel warns her that the men are coming. Cordelia comes in to tell them that the men are there at that moment. Cordelia and Wesley move the girls out to their packing crates while Angel and Jira pick a fight with the men. Cordy and Wesley double back to help, but end up being caught instead. Jira leaves, not caring if they die, just focusing her energy on getting her girls away from there. While getting to the truck, Jira is caught from behind and Tae prepares to cut out her Kau. Cordy and Wesley escape by elbowing their attackers and Angel then runs to help out Jira. He warns the men of Oden Ta to leave and never come back after he helps Jira escape. The next day, at the office, Jira comes in to talk to Angel. As their passion flares, Angel warns her that if she crosses the line by killing more men, that he'll come after her and stop her.

Niki Bartl's Comments

I liked this episode because it is bringing the theme more into context. The show is beginning to take social issues and twist them so they apply to the demon world. I didn't really like Jira, mostly because I had to listen really closely to her pronunciation to hear what she was saying. Not to mention with a top like that, how many men do you think in L.A. thought she was a hooker? It will be interesting to see if she'll be back, though. I'm beginning to warm up to Wesley, he provides some much needed comic relief. His physical stunts are sometimes funny (like when he gets out of the convertible), but if there are to many, it just gets tedious, like when he slips on the coffee beans. Angel's humourous scenes are always funny, I loved how he tried to crush the coffee beans with his super vampire strength. As for the dance scene, I have just one thing to say; my brother dances EXACTLY like that, but seriously.

Nika Summers' Comments

Well I pretty much despised this episode with a bloody fiery passion. BLECH! Okay, I'm making an ultimatum; if I ever see Jira and Angel get anywhere NEAR kissing again I'm going to have a conniption fit. Look, I personal don't find seeing Angel hooking up with someone but if it's going to be that skanky lady then I'm gonna start to have problems. That is not what Angel needs! I wouldn't mind him hooking up with Kate or someone but NOT Jira! Well there were some hysterical scenes in this episode, numero uno being Angel and Wesley's dance scenes! I never thought Angel could make me laugh like that! Oh my god, that was hysterical! As well as the scene where Angel wants his coffee and Cordelia only bought it in the bean format and then he tries to crush it. Like what was he thinking? Anyway, all in all I'm not a big fan of this episode and I seriously doubt I'll be watching it again in the near future, but it still had it's great comedic moments!
