Summary

Wesley and Angel are attending one of Cordy's plays, in which she, uh, attempts to act. On the way home Cordy asks what they thought but Angel is saved from answering when Cordelia spots Rebecca Lowell, a famous TV actress, crossing the street. Angel spots a car ready to run her down and pushes her out of the way, taking the hit himself. Cordy gives Rebecca their business card, but when Rebecca turns to thank Angel, he's already gone.

The next morning Rebecca comes into the office wanting to talk to Angel. She tells him she's being stalked lately but he refuses to take the case because, as Wesley puts it, "He likes her." Cordy desperately tries to get Angel to take it, but he's made up his mind. Meanwhile, Rebecca is obsessing about her looks and how old she's getting. She hosts a party and then heads for her room wearily when an intruder breaks in. Angel follows suit and fends him off but he accidently stands up in front of a mirror. Rebecca deduces that Angel is a vampire but isn't afraid and Angel stays the night to protect her.

The day after Cordelia gets worried about Angel's soul and heads for Rebecca's house. Angel answers the door and tells her Rebecca is out for lunch with her manager, who tells her that her carrer is lagging but not to worry. That night Rebecca takes Angel with her to a premiere as her bodyguard. They then leave by a back alley and the intruder tries to shoot Rebecca but Angel saves her yet again. Rebecca realizes the assassin is someone who works for her agent and finds out that her manager set everything up to get her added publicity. He tells her she needed it because no one stays young forever. She nods, but her gaze fixates on Angel.

Later on, Rebecca grills Cordy about Angel while on a shopping trip. That night Rebecca shows up at Angel's house with a bottle of champagne. While toasting, she accidently spills some on his shirt so he leaves the room to change. During this time she drugs his drink. One glass later we have one woozy Angel and Rebecca is trying to convince him to change her. Wesley arrives at Cordelia's house and she tells him that Rebecca was asking a lot of questions about Angel, including how to make a new vampire. Together they get worried and head to the agency. Back at Angel's, Rebecca is still pressing the fangs issue and Angel gets angry, pulling her forcefully to the fridge and making her drink bagged blood. He realizes that she drugged his drink and all of a sudden surprise, surpirse, the drug made him blissful, leaving a temporary state of utopia in which Angelus can return. He tries to kill Rebecca but she runs off after beaning him on the head and she meets Wesley and Cordelia entering on her way out. Angelus cuts the power and enters the room, taunting Wesley and then throwing him aside like a rag doll. Cordelia is extremely angry after Angelus teases her acting. She pulls out a water bottle and dares him to try her. She fools him into thinking it's holy water and then throws it at him, achieving nothing, but giving Wesley the time to knock Angelus out.

Angel wakes up, chained to the bed. Rebecca is gone and will not be needing his services again. Angel apologizes to Wesley and Cordelia and they forgive him, but leave him tied to the bed for a little extra punishment.

Hmmm, why can Angel pull that flying Matrix-style leap sometimes, but not others? It would be so cool if they had an Angel with Matrix fighting-kung fu stuff everywhere. But I digress. I was totally blown away by the ease that David slips from Angel into Angelus. Very impressive, I must say. Did anyone else notice that Rebecca had an extremely vampiric quality that they played up with her make-up? I find it interesting that Angel is checking out the older chicks now, as opposedto robbing the cradle, like with the Buffster. Note to hair people: never ever slick Angel's hair again. It makes him look like a pansy. He also resembled Stephen Dorff from Blade when he was Angelus, with the hair all mussed and stuff. The episode was pretty good, but I want to see them pull out all the stops for the Faith episode..... yeah!

Well, interesting idea but I don't think it was played out to it's fullest. They had a nice idea working from the start but it started to fizzle by the end. Turning Angel back into evil personally seemed like a cheap trick to me which was only there to scare off Rebecca. I was expecting something a little darker with Angel torn between wanting to do the right thing and wanting a lover in Rebecca by changing her over. Instead, I felt cheated when he turned to evil and whipped her little tush. I did understand that Rebecca was extremely conceited and that she wouldn't be right for Angel but I still don't like the entire way that this was handle. I did like how Angel was kind of opening himself up to more people and I thought Cordelia was absolutely hysterical when she went shopping with Rebecca and kept squealing all the time. Though I honestly thought Cordelia would have had a little more restraint than that!
