Doyle is trying to convince Angel to go out tonight but Angel wants to stay in. Cordelia then leaves for her date with a guy named Pierce. They go to a restaurant where Pierce babbles on and on much to Cordelia's chagrin. Doyle is rifling through one of Angel's books when a picture of a pretty blonde girl drops out, Angel tells him that it's Buffy. Suddenly Doyle has a vision of a guy being fed on by a group of vampires in downtown LA. The two head out to save the young man. They manage to save the guy and Angel finds out during their fight with the vampires that Doyle is stronger when he goes demony. Doyle tells him that he just doesn't like to fight that way. Angel takes the guy home and Doyle heads back to the office. Cordelia is just arriving back from her date and she gets attacked by a vampire right outside the office. Her date gets so scared that he jumps back in his care and speeds off. Luckily, Doyle is standing nearby and manages to stake the demon. Cordelia is astonished that Doyle was so brave and she's thankful that he saved her. The next day, Cordelia goes over to Doyle, thanks him again for last night and is about to ask him out when the door to the office opens and in walks a blonde curly-haired woman. Doyle introduces her to Angel and Cordelia as Harry, his wife. The door then opens again and in walks a guy named Richard, he's Harry's fiance. Angel and Cordelia then leave the three of the alone. Harry explains to Doyle that she's here to get him to sign some divorce papers so that she can marry Richard. He says that he'll look them over and give them back in a few days.
Later on, Doyle tells Angel that he and Harry got married at 20 and they couldn't stop fighting and when Harry found out that Doyle was a demon she freaked out and decided to leave him. Doyle is a little wary about Richard and asks Angel to watch Richard for a little while. Angel goes out and tracks Richard for a little while. He follows him to a restaurant and jumps through the window when Richard goes demon and looks like he's about to attack Harry. Angel pummels him until Harry tells him to stop, she's well aware that he's a demon, but he's from a peaceful clan called the Animovik demons. She says that she may have freaked over Doyle being a demon but afterwards she became a demonologist. Angel goes back to the office and tells Doyle everything. Doyle then signs the divorce papers and gives them over to Harry the next day. Richard then invites Doyle to his bachelor party and Harry invites Cordelia to her shower. Richard, his friends and family are planning out the bachelor party and they've got everything down; beer, a dancing girl and the ritual eating of the first husband's brains.
The next night, Doyle shows up at the bachelor party with Angel, Richard greets them but he's clearly uncomfortable that Doyle brought Angel. Angel spots some guys leaving the party, he decides they look suspicious so he follows them out. He finds them doing a blood ritual and saying words in a different language. He phones Cordelia on her cell phone and asks to speak to Harry. He then asks Harry to translate the words he just heard. Harry says she'll look them up and get back to him. Angel hangs up and bumps into the guys who were doing the ritual. They get into a fight and Angel gets thrown out the window down a couple floors. Back at the party, Richard asks for Doyle's blessing on his and Harry's marriage, Doyle gives it and then Richard has Doyle locked up in a cage where only his head pokes out. Ricahrd and his friends all become demon face and Richard pulls out a knife. Back at Harry's shower, she and Cordelia figure out the translation; it's not good so they make their way to the bachelor party. Doyle is meanwhile panicking because Richard is planning on eating his brains. Richard's about to cut through Doyle's skull when Angel bashes the doors down and begins fighting with everyone there. Doyle goes demon and manages to escape from his cage and begins to help Angel out. Harry and Cordelia then show up and Harry is completely disappointed with Richard and gives her wedding ring back to him. Back at the office, Cordelia tries to cheer up Doyle when he suddenly has a blinding vision. Of Buffy fighting demons.

Well this episode was just kind of blah. Definitely not one of the great ones this season. I found it rather boring and uninteresting and I think it's got something to do with Doyle; don't get me wrong, I do like the guy and he's got his great moments but as far as I can see his past is rather uninteresting and rather bland. Nothing really struck home with me on this episode. It was kind of interesting to find out that Doyle had a wife but that storyline isn't really taking off anywhere for us because it's pretty much over and done with. The concept of this episode was interesting but it needed some spicing up in places (none come to mind right now though) to add a little mroe excitement. BTW, for some reason I really like the little part when Angel bashes down the door with all the little lights behind him, I don't know what it is about that picture, I just really like it (okay, now I'm going weird on you guys....) The one thing I did like about this episode was that Cordelia is finally coming around and seeing that Doyle isn't as bad as she had originally thought. My last thought of the day; now how hideous was that stripper?

I don't know what is up with Angel. I just can't become emotionally invested in this show or the gang's trials and tribulations. Once again, I was left with a neutral reaction to an episode. It was a sweet episode, with Cordy becoming a bit interested in doyle and his (very pretty) ex-wife showing up. However to me, it always seemed that I knew Doyle would be all right, that nothing bad would happen because he has to be there for the next episode. I was surprised when the "peaceful" demon family was revealed, that was a great plot twist, I must say. And the salad fork was a very funny moment. but as usual Angel and Cordy, working together but seperately managed to save the day, and Doyle escaped unscathed. Again. Next week, we'll see if the writers and Joss manage to cook up something contraverisal for me. I'm looking forward to being really surprised soon, because right now, it just isn't happening.
